Start of the 1 ½ hour lasting excursion through the Canyon. The Canyon
is worn out millions of years ago by the wild river, Río Grijalva, which in
1982, was tamed by the construction of the Chicoasen-dam.
We rent a small boat with considerably horse power and put on our
life-jackets. We see vultures, crocodiles, birds, and very high rock-faces
with beautiful rockeries.
And somewhere in a rock we see a little Maria chapel.
The walls are at some places almost 1000 meters high!!
¡VÁMONOS!!!, going on the
river.
VULTURES...
Through the water that drips smoothly from above downstairs, we see some
beautiful lichens formed in huge dimensions. Very special to see.
