The Zócalo of Oaxaca.
Oaxaca was founded in 1529 nearby an Indian settlement. It counts a half
million inhabitants and lies on an altitude of 1500 meters. It has thereby a
lovely mild climate; never too warm or too cold.
Oaxaca is especially
famous for its markets, and... Grasshoppers!!!!... LOS CHAPULINES !!!

them ground or as a whole.

The museum contains also a library with more than 20.000 old books. In 10
former convent cells we can form a picture of the culture of the region from
the prehistory to after the Revolution.

Oaxaca rain.
Our holiday lasted from 15-7 till 30-7, in the middle of in the rain season
therefore. This meant for us that it started to rain frequently at noon.
Sometimes for a short time (15 min.) sometimes, however, 2 hours.
Here it
just starts to rain, and the salesmen wrap up their merchandise in
plastic...
